IRISH DANCING WEEKEND WORKSHOP 7.-9.10.2016
This 7 hour weekend workshop is aimed at anyone who enjoys the rhythm of Irish music. Whether you're a complete newbie or an experienced dancer, this course offers you a weekend full of fun, music and exercise! The course is divided into three levels:
CEILI DANCING (level 1, no previous experience required) 5 hours + intro to sean nós 2 hours
In this course you will learn traditional Irish group dances. This course is all about having a great time dancing with friends, so lace your shoes and join the fun! You will also get an introduction to the old style of Irish solo dancing, sean nós. The course is taught by Gerard Butler, 9 time All-Ireland champion dancer and internationally renowned teacher. Suitable for all ages, no previous dancing experience required. The course will be taught in English. IRISH STEP DANCING (levels 2&3) 7 hours This course is aimed at dancers with previous experience in Irish solo step dancing. You will get to work on your technique and learn new steps with experienced teachers. There are two groups:
PRIMARY for dancers who know the basic steps and beginner level dances. This level is taught by Heidi Aaltonen, an award-winning dancer and experienced teacher from Helsinki.
INTERMEDIATE/ADVANCED for dancers with several years of experience in Irish dancing. This level is taught by Ciaran Connolly, professional dancer and teacher with experience from shows such as Riverdance and Lord of the Dance.
