Doctoral student position in the Dermatology group (Prof. Kaisa Tasanen-Määttä) at the Medical Research Center Oulu (MRC Oulu) The group of Professor Kaisa Tasanen-Määttä investigates the pathomechanism of autoimmune blistering skin disease, bullous pemphigoid. Our group has recently generated a genetically modified mouse model resembling multiple pathological features of bullous pemphigoid. We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated person with a M.Sc. degree in a relevant life science e.g. biochemistry or biology. The candidate should be able to perform basic molecular and cell biological methods (e.g. immunostainings, microscopy, isolation and analysis of nucleic acids and proteins). Previous experience with animal models and statistical skills or knowledge in immunology are considered as merits. The successful candidate is self-driven and motivated, can work independently as well as in a team. We also expect strong communication skills in English.
Salary will be based on the levels 2-4 of the salary system in Finnish Universities including supplementary component based on personal performance (max. 46.3%). The position will be initially for 2 years but could be potentially extended. The contract will include a trial period of four months. The position will start 1st September 2016.
