Subject: [Bco] One postdoctoral and two PhD student positions at theInstitute for Molecular Medicine Finland (FIMM)

One postdoctoral and two PhD student positions are available immediately at the Institute for Molecular Medicine Finland (FIMM), University of Helsinki, in a group studying the molecular mechanisms of breast cancer progression using mouse genetics.

One post-doctoral position is available immediately for a candidate with interests in mouse genetics and cancer research. A suggested project is focused on generating a new mouse model of breast cancer progression. A successful candidate is experienced in molecular biology and cell culture. Experience with mouse genetics, microarray technology and/or mammary gland biology is desirable but not required. Applicants must have a PhD and/or MD.

Two Ph.D. student positions are available immediately for candidates interested in mouse genetics and cancer research. One project is focused on identification of genes cooperating with BRCA1 in tumor progression. The second project is focused on understanding how mutations in Rad51c promote tissue-specific tumors. Prior experience with molecular biology and cell culture are highly desirable but not absolutely required. In a small group like this, young scientists will benefit from a close interaction with a supervisor.

Further description of the lab’s research focus can be found at http://www.fimm.fi/Group_Kuznetsov.htm

Interested candidates should send their CV, a list of publications, contact information of 3 referees, and a brief statement of research interests to Dr. Sergey Kuznetsov at sergey.kuznetsov@helsinki.fi
