VTT is looking for a Doctoral Student for DEEP LIFE-project (biotechnology )

 

We are looking for an innovative student for our deep subsurface earth crust microbiology research. The project is a collaboration with the Geological Survey of Finland (GTK) and concerns utilization of Stable isotope techniques (SIP) and meta'omics' to study the function of deep groundwater microorganisms.   

 

The applicant shold have a M.Sc thesis in microbial ecology, or related field and have a good experience of molecular work. We hope for an enthusiastic and innovative mind for exploring new microbial communities and their functions in deep biosheres. Willingness to work in a multidisciplinary team together with geologists and microbial ecologists is a requirement for successful achievements.
