LABORATORY MANAGER POSITION IMMEDIATELY AVAILABLE IN KLEFSTRÖM LAB, RESEARCH PROGRAMS UNIT, TRANSLATIONAL CANCER BIOLOGY, UNIVERSITY OF HELSINKI (MATERNITY LEAVE
SUBSTITUTE)
A laboratory manager maternity leave substitute position is immediately available in Klefström lab, Biomedicum Helsinki. The position involves both laboratory maintenance
tasks and participation in research projects conducted in various teams.
In addition, the job involves research service actions in Biomedicum Functional Genomics Unit (FuGU). The deadline for the application is August 1st 2015 but the position
is filled as soon as a suitable candidate is found. A successful candidate has a higher vocational diploma or a master’s degree in molecular biology, biotechnology or equivalent. Experience in cell culture and basic molecular biology is mandatory. Ideally
the candidate has a license and experience in laboratory mouse related in vivo techniques. Experience in BSL2 gene transfer methods is considered as a bonus. In FuGU your work will mainly focus on the management of the recombinant virus laboratory (BVC) including
biosafety training and generation of lenti- and retroviral particles for in vitro
and in vivo purposes. We offer you a possibility to develop your skills in state-of-the-art functional genomics technologies and in vivo techniques in a teamwork-spirited environment of about 15 scientific researchers, service project
coordinators and research assistants. Successful implementation of your tasks will require technical prowess, independent problem solving ability, excellent communication
skills and capability for teamwork with researchers coming from different backgrounds.
