A position is available in the Shah Laboratory, Brigham and Women's Hospital, Harvard Medical School, Boston (USA). Our laboratory investigates methods to develop clinical-grade functional hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) from patient-derived tissues for the treatment of blood and bone marrow diseases using state-of-the-art organ-in-a-dish, gene-editing, cell-engineering, confocal imaging, ex vivo mouse embryo and explant culture, as well as computational approaches. My laboratory has expertise in utilizing zebra fish, mice, and human iPS cells to clone and analyze novel genes and mechanisms important for HSC biology and its use in improved therapies. Our lab is located in a dynamic Harvard Medical Area that offers exciting research opportunities and close interactions with other basic and clinical scientists. Postdoctoral Fellow: The successful candidate should have a Ph.D.or prior postdoctoral experience in stem-cell biology, bio-engineering, epigenetics, and/or proteomics. Ph.D/Masters Student: The successful candidate would be enrolled in an accredited program and would have an opportunity to pursue thesis project.
