PhD student position is immediately open for dedicated scientist at the research group of Outi Monni in Biomedicum Helsinki (http://research.med.helsinki.fi/gsb/monni ). Our project focuses on identification of drug targets and novel biomarkers that are linked with drug sensitivity in squamous cell carcinoma of head and neck cancer. This particular project is based on our previous work on defining genetic determinants for drug response utilizing compound library of 230 drugs and unique head and neck cancer cell line material. The project also includes establishment of novel organoid 3D in vitro models for head and neck cancer for drug sensitivity testing.

A successful candidate will have an MD/MSc degree in biology, biochemistry or equivalent and experience with basic molecular biology technologies and cell culture. Experience in working with experimental cancer model systems is highly valued.
