Who we are: mirOculus is a newly founded startup (www.miroculus.comhttp://www.miroculus.com) which aims to democratize cancer diagnosis by making it affordable, simple and fast. The research and development department is currently recruiting a Staff Scientist

The candidate will conduct technology validation and further development of our proprietary molecular assay towards product development. In this phase the focus of R&D will be to optimize and standardize the method mirOculus devises to detect miRNAs in any biological sample affordably and reliably. We are looking for a bright and highly motivated scientist interested in taking on the challenging task of establishing a startup's first product

Position Objective: Molecular assay development, protocol standardization towards product development.

Qualifications: Candidates should have:

- PhD or Master's degree in molecular biology/biochemistry/molecular medicine or other related Life Sciences degree

- 1+ years experience in Basic Research Laboratories

- Experience in RNA biology, small RNA profiling (qPCR, microarrays and if possible also small RNA sequencing), standard molecular biology techniques. - Team player spirit - Very good spoken and written command of English

- Ability to independently initiate and execute scientific research ideas

- Critical thinking in data analysis - A genuine passion to bring accessible applications in clinical context
