We are looking for a Research Scientist in Image and Signal Processing (M.Sc./Ph.D.). Application deadline is 2010-11-07.
In the Personal Health Systems and Biosignal and Image Processing teams in Tampere we study application of information and communications technologies for health and wellness. We collaborate closely with companies (e.g. GE Healthcare, Nokia, Philips, Vivago Oy, Suunto Oy, Elekta-Neuromag Oy, and Nexstim Oy) and health care professionals, not forgetting the end users - both nationally and internationally. Our aim is to develop new solutions by applying scientifically high level methods - simply for better health.
Our main application domains: o Health promotion, health and chronic disease management o Personal Health Systems, eHealth o Health data processing and analysis o Medical image processing o ICT for systems biology o Independent living
We expect you to have finished your university studies successfully with good grades and you have the following profile: o Strong knowledge of image and signal processing methods development, preferably also data mining methods. o Strong skills to implement developed methods in software (esp. Matlab, C or C++). o Experience with the biomedical engineering application field is a very strong plus.
You are a good team worker with good command of the English language. You can work independently and have a clear interest in developing further as a research scientist.
We can offer you very interesting and challenging projects to work on. A high-level and friendly team of colleagues to work with, and up-to-date tools. Job duration: the position is a one-year fixed term appointment in first instance, with good possibilities for further extension. Preferably starting beginning 2011.
