For international MSc students, the "scholarship" is small, but the number of applicants last year was not great so there is a reasonable chance of getting some money.

Call for applications, Scholarships for International Master's Students

University of Oulu Scholarship Foundation invites applications for 20 scholarships of EUR 1 000 for international Master's students. The scholarship is aimed for the second year of studies.

Requirements are; Applicant should be registered as a degree seeking student (Master) at the University of Oulu. Applicant should have studied at the University of Oulu for a maximum of two (2) academic semesters and registered as present (attendance) for the current academic year.

Applicant can not be a Finnish citizen or a student who is eligible for student financial aid from the state of Finland (KELA).

Required attachments are; Transcript of Records with average grade, Personal Study Plan.

Selection criteria for scholarships are the applicant's academic success and the progress of studies.

An application form can be found at http://www.oulu.fi/tukisaatio/html/inenglish.html and it should be submitted by April 29th 2011 (4.15pm). The application has to be submitted with all the required attachments. Application and all the required attachments have to arrive by the deadline as late applications are not considered.
