The Institute of Biotechnology, University of Helsinki has Academy of Finland funded positions open for outstanding PhD student(s) and postdoctoral researcher(s) to work on project(s) studying protein kinase mediated cellular signaling and how this is altered in human cancer. Particular focus will be put on using quantitative mass spectrometry to identify the cancer driving changes in the molecular context of proteins and in protein(s) phosphorylation status.

Interested and highly motivated students that are enthusiastic about the prospect of driving forefront research in an international environment are encouraged to apply. A strong background in biochemistry, molecular biology and/or computational biology is an asset. Good written and spoken English as well as the desire to work in a team-oriented environment are required.

The Institute of Biotechnology (BI) at the University of Helsinki is an independent research institute located at the Viikki Campus, where it forms part of the largest national life sciences alliance in Finland. The Institute provides excellent facilities to conduct interdisciplinary research in biochemistry and molecular biology. In addition, close collaborations with other groups at the Institute, in Meilahti campus and research institutes abroad are in place.
