The purpose of the project is to develop a new in vitro cell culture model for diabetic retinopathy. This model could be used to study the pathogenesis of diabetic retinopathy and as a drug testing and development platform. The project involves culturing of primary cells, embryonic and induced pluripotent stem cells, setting up the functionality tests, wide range of cell characterization methods and microscopy.
This position for the Doctoral Student is at first for 5 months. Successful candidate will have a higher university degree. The familiarity in cell biology and cell culture is an advantage. Start date: as soon as possible.
Salary will be based on level 2 of the demands level chart for research and teaching personnel in the salary system of Finnish universities. In addition, the appointee will be paid a salary component based on personal performance.
