Biomedicum Genomics (BMGen) is a University of Helsinki spin-off, which provides contract research services in the area of functional genomics. The main services include genome profiling using biochips and next generation sequencing, target studies by lentiviral gene/shRNA transfer approaches and customer oriented development of organoid and in vivo tumor models. BMGen supports pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries in Finland and abroad and operates in the stimulating biomedical research environment of Biomedicum Helsinki.
Project scientist position is immediately available in Biomedicum Genomics. The project scientist position involves supervision and coordination of a team of research assistants and associates, interaction with the customers and project management. A successful candidate has an academic, preferably PhD, degree in the field of molecular or cell biology. We appreciate previous experience in cell culture techniques, IF microscopy & imaging methods, working with organoid, tissue slice cultures and animal models and thorough knowledge in basic molecular biology techniques. This position is for a customer oriented professional with excellent organization, team working and communication skills and independent problem solving capacity.
The position offers you possibilities for career advancement, in learning and developing cutting edge life science technologies and participation in an EU-EFPIA-funded public-private consortium of 20 academic, biotech company and pharmaceutical partners. The project is scheduled for 2011-2016.
