As you know, Biocenter Oulu Graduate School has collaborated with the Faculty of Life Sciences and the Wellcome Trust Centre for Cell-Matrix Research at the University of Manchester in PhD training some years now. In addition, there are several other consortiums or institutes our people are either collaborating with or involved in as active partners also in training issues.

Now we have agreed initially about the collaboration with two German Universities - University of Freiburg (Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg) and University of Ulm.

University of Freiburg has recently established the Graduate School "Molecular Cell Research in Biology and Medicine - MOBILMED". The school get its funding as an "Excellence initiative by the German Federal and State Goverments" (more information here http://www.pr.uni-freiburg.de/prmit_layout_alt/prmit.php?ind=1614 ). It will be the first international graduate school at the University of Freiburg.

University of Ulm is a long-standing collaboration partner of the University of Oulu. Now also BCO Graduate School starts a training collaboration with them. University of Ulm has launched International PhD Programme in Molecular Medicine (more information here http://www.uni-ulm.de/medizin/Fakultaet/Studium%20%26%20Lehre/Studieng%E4ng e/International%20PhD%20Programme%20in%20Molecular%20Medicine/index.html ).
