Dear all,
We warmly welcome M.Sc. students to join our group (Ulla Petäjä-Repo group) for an Orientation or Pro-Gradu at the Research Unit of Biomedicine (former Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology).
Our research is focused on studying the mechanisms that regulate the functional activation of G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs). These integral membrane proteins are key players of cellular signaling and the primary target of about one third of all presently available therapeutic drugs. We have several projects available studying different model GPCRs with a role in neurodegenerative disorders, pain management, as well as cardiovascular diseases. For more information about our research and our group please visit our web page https://www.oulu.fi/mrc/node/19977 .
Working in our group, the student will acquire a diversity of laboratory skills and, depending on the project, use a wide variety of methods such as:
* Cell culture work * Immunoprecipitation and western Blotting * BRET - bioluminescence resonance energy transfer * Isolation of plasmid DNA * Cloning, primer design and PCR * FACS
For more details, please contact post-doctoral researcher Anja Konzack (anja.konzack@oulu.fimailto:anja.konzack@oulu.fi) or our group leader Ulla Petäjä-Repo (ulla.petaja-repo@oulu.fimailto:ulla.petaja-repo@oulu.fi)
Best regards,
