NEW POSITIONS AVAILABLE AT TURKU GRADUATE SCHOOL OF BIOMEDICAL SCIENCES (TuBS)
Turku Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences (TuBS) offers a graduate programme covering various fields of biomedical research including immunology, developmental biology, receptor research and molecular medicine. New graduate students will be accepted to TuBS starting from January 2009.
Young, talented students with a basic education in either medicine or natural sciences are accepted to TuBS. A prerequisite for the admission is passing the entrance examination. Suitable candidates will be interviewed and the prevalent recruitment criteria's are considered.
The salary for the present posts will be based on levels 1 - 3 of the demands level chart for teaching and research personnel in the new salary system of Finnish universities. In addition, the appointee will be paid a salary component based on personal work performance which will be, at most, 46% of the job-specific component.
Salary costs of the graduate students will be shared equally between TuBS and the supervisor of the student with TuBS remaining the employer. Passing the annual thesis committee meeting is a prerequisite for continuing funding.
The applicants should have a agreement on graduate student enrollment at TuBS from a supervisor affiliated with TuBS. The successful applicants must be registered as doctoral students at the University of Turku or the Åbo Akademi University . They will also commit to the rules and regulations of the graduate school. The students are expected to graduate with a Ph.D. or Dr. Med. Sci. degree after four years of full-time studies.
