Dear colleagues,

You are warmly invited to Eudaimonia’s Publication Salon & Academic Cocktails, an informal afternoon celebrating recent publications in the Human Sciences by staff and students at the University of Oulu.

The aim of the event is simple: to make visible the rich and ongoing research and writing taking place across our community. While self-promotion can sometimes feel unfamiliar, we all too rarely hear about one another’s published work. This event is therefore designed as a collective celebration—shared, collegial, and explicitly not a competition.

Venue: Tellus Stage

Date and time: Tuesday 25 March, from 14.00 onwards

The afternoon will begin with the Publication Salon at 14.00, followed by Eudaimonia’s customary Academic Cocktails from 16.00. There will be both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, light snacks, and music, creating a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.

We invite participants in the Publication Salon to submit one piece of work published since January 2025 that they are particularly pleased with (e.g. an article, book chapter, monograph, edited volume, or similar). At the event, each contributor will briefly introduce their publication—what it is, what it does, and why it matters to them.
