I would like to share that I have been given the opportunity to serve as Guest Editor for a new JoVE Methods Collection titled: **Integrated Nanomaterial Platforms for Biomedicine: Synthesis, Natural Nanoparticle Isolation, Engineering, and Applications.**
JoVE is renowned for its video-based visualization of experimental methods, making it an invaluable resource for teaching and training. This was a key reason I agreed to serve as Guest Editor. Throughout my graduate studies and even now, I have learned new techniques, particularly involving animal procedures, through JoVE videos when starting new experiments.
Moreover, I confirmed with UniOgs that this type of methods/video manuscript counts towards PhD graduation requirements, provided it is limited to one such publication per student. This presents a valuable opportunity for PhD students as well.
If you have a unique or well-established protocol that would benefit from visual representation, this format will be helpful for teaching. It is particularly useful for undergraduates, new PhD students, and newcomers to the field, and it also promotes reproducible lab practices.

The full paper would be due after invitation and discussion of the video plan, tentatively by April 6, 2026 (or another agreed date).

To be transparent about costs, JoVE charges a flat publication fee that includes professional video production. For Methods or Research Articles, the fee is USD 2,400 (standard access) or USD 4,200 (open access); for Reviews, it is USD 1,200 (standard) or USD 2,100 (open). The video can be reused freely for teaching, talks, and outreach, which many groups find highly valuable.
