Näin merkitset ongelmajätteet / how to label hazardous waste

Huomenta, Ongelmajätevarastomme tyhjennettiin viime viikolla. Olitte tehneet hyvää työtä ja kaikki jätteemme kelpasivat yliopiston ongelmajäteteknikolle. Vain muutamia pieniä tarkennuksia: Olitte merkinneet jätteet hyvin. Pakkauksissa mainittiin yksikkö tai laboratorio ja jätteen sisältö asianmukaisesti kertoen jätteen sisältämät kemikaalit. Oman laboratorion / yksikön lisäksi suoraan hävitettäväksi toimitettaviin isompiin pakkaukseen olisi merkittävä Biocenter. Tämä siksi, että varastossa on myös Mikrobiologian laitoksen ja kliinisen tutkimuskeskuksen jätteitä, ja ongelmajätehuolto haluaa pitää kirjanpitoa eri yksiköiden tuottamista jätemääristä. Yliopiston jätehuolto huolehti pois myös kliinisen tutkimuskeskuksen jätteet. Jätehuoltoteknikko neuvoi myös meitä seuraamaan syntyviä jätemääriä. Niinpä alas varaston seinälle tulee piakkoin lista, johon jätteitä varastoon viedessänne voitte kirjata, mitä ja kuinka paljon (litraa / kiloa / kpl) varastoon tuotte. Varastoon tulee myös varusteet, joilla voitte jätteidenne merkitsemistä täydentää, jos alhaalla huomaatte, että pakkauksen merkinnät ovat vaillinaiset. -------------------------------------- Hi, Hazardous waste was removed from the storage room last week, and taken to special handling. You had packed and marked the waste very well. I have only few comments. When you bring something to the storage room, you should write down which kind of waste and how much you bring to the storage room. I will soon provide the room with a book / list and pen needed for this. Rewritten instructions for labelling are as follows: Mark or label hazardous waste clearly. The label should tell that the content is waste and list all the components of the waste (also those ones that are not hazardous waste). Indicate clearly the laboratory where hazardous waste comes from, and indicate also that the waste originates from Biocenter Oulu laboratories (Storage room contains waste from Biocenter, Dept. of Microbiology and CRC, and these all are removed at the same time). Mark/label the waste so that it can be disposed and destroyed according to the label. For example, text "photographic waste" is useless whereas text "fixation waste from photographing, contains silver" is a correct one. It is very expensive to analyse the waste in order to find out its composition. It is best to mark the hazardous waste already when it is produced, i.e. mark the empty container appropriately when you start collecting hazardous waste in it. Text has to made so that it is not possible to wipe them away. Regards Pekka

Hyvää päivää, Yliopiston ongelmajätehuolto tyhjentää kellarin jätevaraston 17. toukokuuta. Jos haluatte saada laboratorioissa olevat jätteet mukaan samaan kuormaan, toimittakaapa ne asianmukaisesti pakattuna ja merkittynä varastoon viimeistään 16. päivä. labrahyllyjen korjaus

Tervehdys! Kieppi-talon laboratorioiden seiniin kiinnitetyt 120 cm pitkät hyllyt kaipaavat vahvistusta. Ne korjataan kolmannessa kerroksessa keskiviikkona 26.4.2006 ja neljännessä kerroksessa torstaina 27.4.2006 . Teidän pitäisi tyhjentää hyllyt siihen mennessä. Siis vain seiniin kiinnitetyt 120 cm pitkät hyllyt pitää tyhjentää.
