ERC Proposal Reading Days in November 2024 in Helsinki

Dear ERC contacts, We will organize two ERC Proposal Reading Days (PRDs) this autumn; 14th and 20th November. Both PRDs will be held this time in Hakaniemi, Helsinki. PRDs are aimed for researchers interested in applying for an ERC grant, and the research services staff members form the Host Institutions are welcome to participate, too. Please disseminate the following information to the researchers in your organization: On the Proposal Reading Day (PRD) applicants will get the opportunity to read successful ERC grant proposals to see how a proposal might be structured. Currently 51 ERC grantees from Finnish Host Institutions have given their kind consent to make their proposal(s) available for the reading day. – This means there are 11 new proposals for you to read! * Proposal Reading Day is an on-site event. * The PRDs on 14th and 20th November will be held at the Research Council of Finland premises, Hakaniemenkatu 2, Helsinki. * There will be two separate sessions on each PRD, at 9-12 and 13-16, both accommodating max 38 persons. * One is allowed to register only to one of these PRDs and to one session. Practicalities: * The proposals are available as paper copies on the PRD. One can preselect up to two proposals in the registration form. Subject to availability, it may be possible to read copies of other applications. * Attendance only by registration which is binding. If one signs up, but cannot attend after all, one is requested to deregister before the registration deadline. After the registration deadline, one is requested to inform Coordinator Henriikka Katila (henriikka.katila(a)aka.fi<mailto:henriikka.katila@aka.fi>) about the cancellation. * The participants must sign Declaration of Secrecy (attached) when they arrive and sign up to the PRD session. – It is desirable to sign the document in advance and to bring a copy to the event. * Photocopying or taking photos of the applications is not allowed. * Applications cannot be taken out of the reading room. * This is a quiet individual reading session. It does not include tutorials about the ERC. To participate one should be familiar with the ERC grant schemes, as well as the conditions for participation listed here. Toisiolakikyselyn vastausaikaa jatkettu 7.10.2024 saakka!

Hyvä tutkimusta tekevä kollega, Teemme riippumatonta kyselytutkimusta toisiolain ja Findatan toiminnan vaikutuksista lääketieteelliseen tutkimukseen Suomessa. Kyselyn tulosten avulla pyritään vaikuttamaan toisiolakiin ja sen soveltamiseen jatkossa. Ensimmäinen vastaava kysely toteutettiin vuonna 2021 ja sen tulokset julkaistiin vuonna 2022 Lääkärilehdessä. Nyt Toisiolakia ollaan avaamassa käsittelyyn ja toistamme tutkimuksen. Nyt toteutettavan kyselyn tulokset pyritään julkaisemaan suomenkielisessä lääketieteellisessä julkaisussa. Voit osallistua tutkimukseen, jos olet lääketieteellistä, kliinistä- tai rekisteritutkimusta tekevä ammattilainen. Kyselyyn vastaamiseen on hyvä varata aikaa noin 10 minuuttia. Support for EIC Pathfinder Open 2025 proposal preparation is open

Dear Researchers, European Innovation Council (EIC) is Europe’s flagship innovation programme to identify, develop and scale up breakthrough technologies and game changing innovations. EIC Pathfinder Open<https://eic.ec.europa.eu/eic-funding-opportunities/eic-pathfinder_en> supports the exploration of bold ideas for radically new technologies. It welcomes the high-risk/high gain and interdisciplinary cutting-edge science collaborations that underpin technological breakthroughs. Research and Project Services offer enhanced support for researchers who plan to apply for EIC Pathfinder Open 2025 call. The EIC Work Programme 2025 has not been published yet, but EIC Pathfinder Open 2025 call opens at the beginning of 2025 with a deadline in the spring of 2025.
