Biopankit ovat tutkimustoimintaa tukevia alustoja, joissa biopankkiin liittyjä antaa laajan suostumuksen näytteidensä ja tietojensa käyttöön biolääketieteellisessä tutkimuksessa. Biopankit toimivat osana Veripalvelun tutkimus- ja tuotekehitysosastoa ja ovat viranomaisvalvonnan alaisia. Veripalvelun biopankki toimii FinnGen-projektissa (www.finngen.fi<http://www.finngen.fi/>) ja toimittaa sinne yli 50 000 verenluovuttajan näytteet. Osana FinnGen-projektia pystytetään uusintanäytteiden keruu valikoiduista verenluovuttajista geneettisiä jatkotutkimuksia varten. Tehtävä: Haemme nyt tohtoritason biologia (geneetikko tai vastaava) ottamaan käytännön vetovastuuta jatkotutkimusnäyte-projektin suunnittelusta ja toteuttamisesta. Työ tehdään läheisessä yhteistyössä FinnGen-projektin kanssa. Projektitutkijana keskeinen tehtäväsi on suunnitella ja toteuttaa yhteistyössä verenluovutustoiminnan, TK-osaston ja FinnGen-projektin kanssa tarvittava näyteprosessi verenluovuttajien uusintanäytteiden keruulle. Tehtävä voi sisältää myös muuta biopankkiin tai FinnGen-hankkeeseen liittyvää työtä. Odotamme: Tehtävän menestyksellinen hoitaminen edellyttää kokemusta projektityöstä, tieteellisestä työskentelystä ja ymmärrystä biopankkitoiminnasta. Hyvät yhteistyö- ja vuorovaikutustaidot ovat tärkeitä. Tehtävä vaatii sekä suomen että englannin kielen riittävää osaamista ja halua osallistua myös laboratoriotyöhön.
