Dear Researchers,
European Innovation Council (EIC) is Europe’s flagship innovation programme to identify, develop and scale up breakthrough technologies and game changing innovations. EIC Pathfinder Open<https://eic.ec.europa.eu/eic-funding-opportunities/eic-pathfinder_en> supports the exploration of bold ideas for radically new technologies. It welcomes the high-risk/high gain and interdisciplinary cutting-edge science collaborations that underpin technological breakthroughs.
Research and Project Services offer enhanced support for researchers who plan to apply for EIC Pathfinder Open 2025 call. The EIC Work Programme 2025 has not been published yet, but EIC Pathfinder Open 2025 call opens at the beginning of 2025 with a deadline in the spring of 2025. The support consists of training, support in proposal writing (call analysis, impact and implementation, open science, DMP, gender), budgeting and subject to available funds graphic design and external consultant service.
All researchers planning to submit a proposal for the EIC Pathfinder 2025 call can express their interest to be included in the support process by answering a short Webropol questionnaire<https://link.webropolsurveys.com/S/44D18DC7AD0A0825> by 1.12.2024.
Please see Patio news<https://patio.oulu.fi/en/news/support-eic-pathfinder-open-2025-proposal-pre…> for more information.
Best wishes,
Mirko

Hello,
This is your chance to shape the future of longitudinal research.
Population Research UK (PRUK) is a joint ESRC and MRC initiative with UKRI funding that aims to maximise the use and benefits of longitudinal population studies (LPS) across social, economic and biomedical research.
We are writing to invite you - our LPS community - to a series of workshops that we will be holding across the UK in October and November that will help shape PRUK funding opportunities that will be coming up in 2025.
Working together with you, PRUK will promote solutions to LPS challenges in areas including data discovery, data access, data linkage, coordination and training. PRUK is also open to innovative and collaborative ideas which address emerging opportunities and needs.
Whether you face challenges in your work or have great ideas for solutions, we would love to see you.
Sign up<https://pruk.ac.uk/contact/> to find out more about PRUK, and/or to join one of our workshops<https://pruk.ac.uk/workshops/> here.
We hope to see you soon

Deadline for applications is 6 October 2024
Medical Research Center Oulu (MRC Oulu, https://oys.fi/mrc-oulu/) is a strategic research organization of the Wellbeing services county of North Ostrobothnia and the University of Oulu. MRC Oulu offers a multidisciplinary research environment for clinical, translational and health care socioeconomic research, and promotes high-level clinical research and internationalization of the research in the field of medical sciences.
Call for research funding 2025
MRC Oulu announces a call for research funding for 2025. The funding is aimed to MRC Oulu research groups, and it is intended for salary expenses for a researcher for 2025 (including all indirect employee costs). The researcher will be employed at the University of Oulu according to its employment policy. The total call allocation is 100 000 EUR. Several smaller grants will be awarded.
Who can apply?
Eligible applicants are leaders of MRC Oulu research groups (i.e. listed as a leader in MRC Oulu documents), who cannot apply for the state research funding (VTR, Valtion tutkimusrahoitus), and who do not receive funding from the centres for multidisciplinary research of the University of Oulu (e.g. Biocenter Oulu, Eudaimonia, Infotech and Kvantum). Only one application per research group is allowed, and the group leader can participate only in one application.
How to apply?
Combine all the required parts of the application (1*4) in the order 1*4 below and submit as a single PDF file. Use the headings provided. Name the file with the MRC Oulu group leader's lastname_firstname.pdf.
Required parts of the application:

* the name of the MRC Oulu group leader and contact information
* the name of the MRC Oulu research group
2) Summary of the research plan (max. 1 page), including the following information:
* aim and objectives
* implementation
* research funding plan (justify the funding to be applied for)
* references (not counted in the 1 page of the research plan)
3) CV of the research group leader (max. 2 pages). The CV must follow the Research Council of Finland's CV template (https://www.aka.fi/en/research-funding/apply-for-funding/how-to-apply-for-f…)
4) List of the most relevant publications (up to max. 10 publications in the past 5 years)
Submit the application via email to katja.riipinen(a)pohde.fi<mailto:katja.riipinen@pohde.fi> by 6 October 2024 at the latest. Applications submitted after the deadline will not be processed.
Selection procedure
The applications will be evaluated by the scientific committee of MRC Oulu and if necessary, an external evaluation panel. Selection will be based on the evaluation and an overall assessment by the governing board of MRC Oulu. The results of the call will be announced at the earliest in November 2024. All applicants will be notified when the selection process is completed.

The Finnish Cultural Foundation's October call from 10 to 31 October 2024 is also open for applications for additional funding of one million euros for applied research supporting mental health in children and young people. The call is open to all scientific disciplines and an interdisciplinary approach is appreciated. Applications may address the topic from different perspectives, but research that seeks to find scientifically sound solutions to support children and young people's mental health in a preventive way and thus reduce the need for mental health services is particularly encouraged. More information on the call can be found at https://skr.fi/en/grants/october-round-applications/additional-million-euro…
Best wishes,
Mirko
