photo competition exhibition and voting

Hi all, Last week we had a sunny field trip in Sanginjoki and we decided to have a photo competition. Now you can find the competing photos on the wall of staircase in the end of genetics corridor. So, go there, admire the breathtaking pictures and vote for your favourite! There are two categories - Natural and Unnatural - and everyone can give one vote in both catogories. And remember, it is not allowed to vote for your own picture! :) Winners of the both categories will be awarded! The deadline for voting is August 14th. Ps. If you prefer seeing photos on your computer, ask Tiina (tiina.mattila(a)oulu.fi) to send a file. Then you can vote by email. field trip on 29.6.

Hi all, We have planned a small field trip to Sanginjoki hiking area on 29.6.2011 starting around 14. Our plan is to walk around (~5 km), observe nature :) and eat sausage. If you would like to join us please register to the trip at latest on Monday 27.6.2011 by sending an e-mail to Ulla. Tell also if you can provide a car for driving a bunch of people to Sanginjoki (or if you don't need a lift). Ps. Hi all population genetics group members The Rsearch Council (Suomen Akatemia) is evaluating our research area in all Finnish Universities. This requires much background information. EVERYBODY (except undergraduate students) should check these forms and fill them in. (publications, other presentation etc.) and send the forms to Eija.Hurme(a)oulu.fi by the end of this week, whi will put those together. This is important - such evaluations influence many aspects of funding in our area. Please all do this! Hei, meidän kolmannen kerroksen kylmähuone on nyt siinä kunnossa, että se vaatii tyhjentämisen ja puhdistamisen. Alustavasti siivous on sovittu tiistaille 10.5. joten kaikki joilla on siellä tavaraa hakekaa omanne pois viimeistään maanantaina 9.5. Siellä on paljon homeisia säilytyslaatikoita jotka täytyy vaihtaa uusiin ennen, kuin tavarat tuodaan takaisin tai jätetään muihin säilytystiloihin. Puhdistakaa myös kaikki kemikaali ym purkit jotta tämä homeongelma saataisiin poistettua. terkuin Hannele
